Lead 4 fitters into clear lines of organisation

Motivating, inspiring, mentoring and getting the best from fitters is what this role is about. Organising the work so the fitter machinists are more productive at the work they are doing, ensuring that the jobs, that need machining work, are kept up to them. Other tasks include writing and administering work instructions and quality duties.

Organising skills

A small team of fitters need your help. Help in organising the work for them, i.e. ensuring that the mild steel or high speed steel is ordered, organised, ready to go and the work instructions are in front of them. Also ensuring that the programs for the machining centres i.e computer numerically controlled (CNC) mazac programmed machines are loaded or ready to be loaded. Do you have these skills?

Responsibilities

Being responsible for final signoff on finished jobs, preparing quality documents for inspection, organising shipping of completed jobs, monitoring timesheets and job sheets, supervision of stores, conduct tool box discussions and mentoring, ensure OH&S standards are maintained, ensure the manufactured products are of high quality and that craftsmanship is of a high level.

Knowledge

Having a jobbing shop background will prepare you for this position, a bonus in your background would be having had experience in the manufacture of oil and gas parts machining.

Experience

To be a leader in this small group of fitters you will need to be able to show leadership and people management skills. The ability and skills associated with being able to motivate and encourage excellence in people will be highly regarded. Even if the experience is as a leading hand of fitters over a number of years or different positions.

Location

South eastern Perth easy access with two freeways very close by. Relocation to WA will be considered for the right candidate. Relocation expenses will be required to be repaid if the successful person leaves the role within 2 years. So wherever you are, this may be the role you have been waiting for.

Salary

$77 to 83K per annum or $35 to $38 per hour plus super. Occasional interstate travel maybe required.
